The Vanilla Beans

So I'm in The Vanilla Beans, but I don't write any of the songs or play anything on them currently, so I figured it would be not a douche move at all to post about it. My roommate Andy is the master brain of it and I really dig it. Yeah baby. He recently did a song with our pal Jessica Hutson that I really enjoy.

So yeah, head over to myspace and check em out. "Really Really" is the song with J. Hutson and "Hugs" is my favorite non J. Hutson collabo. I couldn't get copy link location thing to work and I didn't want to upload them somewhere else and yeeeeah. That's why I didn't post direct links.

new Tegan and Sara

So wow. I never really listened to Tegan and Sara much. I heard "Walking With A Ghost" and some remixes and covers of it and was into that, but never took the time to listen to much else. Their new album The Con leaked so I decided to give it a listen and it's pretty much great. I've been listening to it all day yesterday and all this morning. I haven't even listened to "The Ping Pong Song" for a day because of it. That's saying something. Here are some sweet jams from Tegan and Sara.

Tegan and Sara - Hop A Plane
Tegan and Sara - Back In Your Head

more Muscles

Shit son, I've been slacking. Here are two more Muscles songs.

Muscles - One Inch Badge Pin
Muscles - We Can Use Magic

Muscles

I stumbled across Muscles yesterday. I had never heard of Muscles, but I guess he's a big deal. Maybe not a huge deal, but he's a deal of some sort. It's electro music, but it's not shitty. I don't really know how to explain it. I really like his voice as well. He's played some shows with Architecture In Helsinki recently if that helps at all. Yeeep.

Muscles - Ice Cream

Muscles - Chocolate Raspberry Lemon and Lime

new R Kelly

R Kelly's new album Double Up leaked and I'm disappointed. With titles like Sex Planet, Havin' a Baby, and Freaky in the Club, I was really hoping for some good times, but not so much. Sex Planet is a slow jam, so that let me down. I thought there was no way Havin' a Baby could not be hilarious, but it's about being happy about having a baby instead of Ooooooh shit she's having a baby. I did find one song I really enjoy though and that's Rock Star featuring the talents of Ludacris and Kid Rock. Kid Rock! Kid Rock doesn't do enough in this song I think, but oh well. He doesn't even get his own verse. Luda's line about poking a girl to death is gold though.

I apologize for not using a bunch of quotes around song titles. That would have been a lot of quotes.

Movie Review: 28 Weeks Later

I was pretty excited to go see this movie. I liked the first movie, but I was like this one will suuuuck. Then I heard nonstop good reviews, so I got excited. I like zombie movies and such, so hooray!

Anyway, this movie sucked. Don't go see it ever. I was bored the whole time. Nothing ever happened that made me enjoy it. It just sucked. In the beginning, I was like ooookay! This is going to be cool, but F no. It's hard to explain. Zombies running real fast like they're mad pissed is pretty cool, but then they just slobber on people. Michael from LOST was in it, that was kinda cool.

28 Weeks Later = suck - not totally awful, but pretty much

WWE Judgment Day

I went to the WWE Judgment Day event in St. Louis last night. It was pretty okay, nothing that awesome or anything. Shawn Michaels (my favorite wrestler of all time) just came out and collapsed (he supposedly has a concussion, but really his knee is all messed up) and a lot of the matches just kinda ended shitty style. After it was over we were headed back and stopped at the Steak N Shake in Collinsville only to find Matt and Jeff Hardy hanging out. We got sat right next to them so we talked back and forth and I let them know Trevor Murdoch was a sweet dude. Then some referees came in, which I was way more excited about. It was a good time.

Goodbye Horses

I watched Silence of the Lambs the other day. The song that plays while Buffalo Bill is getting all fancied up is really sweet. I heard it at The Creepy Crawl playing over the PA at the Electric Six show and I couldn't remember what it was from, theeeen I watched the movie and it all came back.

Q Lazzarus - Goodbye Horses

Also, according to wikipedia, the singer of this song is a woman. Whaaaat? I thought it was totally a dude.

new Totally Radd!!

Here's a new Totally Radd!! tune. It's pretty cool, I guess. They changed their sound a bit with the past couple of songs they put out, which is totally fine. It's good stuff. But really, scroll down and download that Enrique song. It's amazing.

Totally Radd!! - Thumbs Up

Theeeen it's a date

The Office last night was great as usual. Great great. Make sure you go over to the NBC Office site to read Creed's blog.

new Polyphonic Spree

The new Polyphonic Spree album leaked yesterday. I haven't had time to listen to it yet, but I'm sure it's alright and such. So yeah buddy. Here's the radio edit of the first single. You should probably DL it then scroll down and get that new Enrique song, because it's awesome.

The Polyphonic Spree - Running Away (radio edit)

So the LOST season finale last night was a big letdown for me. The past 2 weeks were great and then this one? I was expecting some big stuff to go down, but it didn't happen really. Oh well. I'm sure The Office finale tonight will be great. Soooooo Jenna Fischer broke her back. That sucks. It says she'll be okay though, so that's good.

new Kanye West

head over here to get a new Kanye jam.

I'm still not sure about it, it's not instantly awesome or anything.

new Enrique Iglesias

So I was eating Chinese with my friend Lauren and Enrique's "Hero" came on and we discussed how we both thought Enrique was a totally sweet dude with some totally sweet songs. Then we realized that Enrique has been gone for a few years and really wanted to know what he was up to. We got back to my house and hoooooooooot shit! Enrique's got a new single called "Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)"...it's seriously called that. After laughing for awhile, we watched the video with some douche director guy hanging out with babes and playing ping pong. In the video Enrique slaps his chest around by his heart area twice real fast along with the beat in one scene. It's pretty much gold. But yeeeeeeah, this Enrique song is awesome. Really really great. I've been listening to it nonstop. Where's Ricky Martin at? He's at home wishing he was half as good as Enrique.

Enrique Iglesias - Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)

new Gravy Train!!!!

Those exclamation marks are there not because I'm really excited, that's just how they spell their band name. I kinda like Gravy Train!!!!, they're not my favorite band by any means, but they're oookay. I really liked their first album, the second one was okay, and their new one All The Sweet Stuff looks like it's going to continue the downward spiral. I really hope that's not true. Here's two new songs from it.

Gravy Train!!!! - Strip 4 Me
Gravy Train!!!! - Club Situation

wow

I can't stop watching this.

USE remixs Of Montreal

United State of Electronica have had this Of Montreal remix up on their myspace for a little while, but I just now finally got it in mp3 form and such. It's pretty short and sweet and awesome. USE are also going to be releasing their 2nd album this year, maybe. They're working on it anyway.

Of Montreal - Requiem for O.M.M. 2 (United State of Electronica Remix)

new Chromeo

The new Chromeo album Fancy Footwork leaked recently. It's some pretty funky stuff. I've been really digging it lately, you should probably be digging it too.

Chromeo - Fancy Footwork

Chromeo - Bonafied Lovin'

new Minus The Bear

Minus The Bear have a new album coming out in August called Planet of Ice. That's a pretty sweet album title, but I'm pretty sure it's going to suck. They're coming to St. Louis and some of my pals are going to go see them, and after listening to Highly Refined Pirates last night, I reallllly thought about tagging along...

until I heard this not good new song this morning. I really didn't like their last album much at all besides a song or two and it looks like their new album is continuing in the direction of sucking. This new tune is just boring to me. Maybe it'll grow on me. I'll let you know if that happens. Right now though, it's going in the suck pile. Well, it's not that bad, It's just not that good.

Minus The Bear - Dr. L'ling

new Maroon 5

The new Maroon 5 album It Won't Be Soon Before Long leaked this weekend. I know what you're thinking, you're thinking "Corey, Maroon 5 is totally lame/they suck hard," they really don't though. Their first album had some catch singles and after hearing their new single "Makes Me Wonder" I decided I'd give this album a try. It's not super awesome or anything, but it's got some good tunes. Just give it a listen.

Maroon 5 - Nothing Lasts Forever
Maroon 5 - Not Falling Apart
Maroon 5 - Little of Your Time

"Nothing Lasts Forever" uses some of the lyrics from the Kanye/Adam Levine collabo "Heard 'Em Say." "Not Falling Apart" is a good tune and "Little of Your Time" kinda reminds me of "Hey Ya."

YACHT

HEY! THIS SHOW IS ON FRIDAY, NOT SATURDAY.
I made the flyer and as usual I messed it up. Great!

I'm playing with YACHT next weekend. I'm pretty excited. It's at the Lemp Arts Center. It'll be a fun time. If you're not familiar with YACHT, wellllll he's a sweet dude that makes sweet beats for The Blow, does a lot of remix work, and YACHT is his own music project kinda thing. Yeah.

a bunch of YACHT tracks and remixes can be found here

Justice - D.A.N.C.E.

So there's this video that I've seen a billion places, but it's sweet. The song is a pretty sweet jam too. Exactly.

Justice - D.A.N.C.E.

yay

So I'm almost done with school and I'll hopefully have some more free time. Soooooo that means I've decided to start blogging on a regular basis again. Hopefully it goes alright. Here's some stuff I've been listening to:

The new Ozma album Pasadena leaked a few days ago. It's pretty good stuff. I was really excited to hear the new version of "No One Needs To Know" and it's pretty much like the original, but a little more polished and rocking. My favorite track from it has to be "Heartache vs. Heartbreak" it's sweet and lovely and has Rachel Haden from The Rentals providing the lady singing parts. Yep.

Ozma - No One Needs To Know
Ozma - Heartache Vs. Heartbreak

This new R. Kelly song leaked the other day as well. It's a duet with Usher and they find out that they're both messin with the same girl! Oooooooh shhhhhiiit!

R. Kelly and Usher - Same Girl

Hilary Duff has a new album out. It's okay. I'm not a fan of all the songs, but this one rocks pretty hard.

Hilary Duff - Outside of You
