Planet of Suck
The new Minus The Bear album leaked the other day. It continues their journey into being absolutely terrible. Seriously. My friend Jordan argued with me yesterday telling me how Highly Refined Pirates was terrible and how their newer stuff is great. Whaaaaaaat? He likes The Hold Steady and Dan Deacon though. So he obviously has no idea what he's talking about.

...your friend jordan doesn't know anything at all. highly refined pirates is my favorite album, and it is my frame of reference whenever i try to think about what minus the bear sounds like.
i have been listening to planet of ice, and i wouldn't say that it was absolutely terrible, but terrible is pretty close. people claim that it is a far cry from menos el oso, but it is also nothing like their older stuff, which is my favorite. however, i hated menos el oso, and i guess that i like planet of ice better because it's still new to my ears.
i am forcing myself to like it, because i need reasons to believe that bands can get better.
